A food delivery service customer in Utah got a shock when he received a cup filled with urine instead of the milkshake that he had ordered, KTVX reported.
Caleb Wood, of Saratoga Springs, told the local media outlet that he ordered fries and a milkshake from Chick-fil-A on the Grubhub app earlier this week.
“When I started eating my meal upon delivery, I put a straw in my cup that was delivered and took a sip,” he told KTVX. “I soon discovered that the cup delivered to me from the Grubhub driver was a warm cup of urine.”
Confronted over mix-up
Wood told KTVX that he called the driver back to his house and asked him to explain the delivery. The original delivery as well as the confrontation was captured on Wood's home security cameras.
When Wood told the driver that the tall Styrofoam cup, he had received pee in it, the driver reportedly admitted to mixing up two Styrofoam cups in his vehicle. Wood told KTVX that the driver told him that he works long hours, without any bathroom breaks, so he ends up having to relieve himself in the car.
Wood told KTVX said that the urine sip made him sick and when he reached out to Grubhub, they took four days to get back to him and only refunded part of his order, which was less than $30.
“They refunded like $18, the actual cost of the food,” Wood told KTVX. “They didn’t refund the delivery fee or the tip that I gave.”

'Unacceptable'
Grubhub, in a statement to USA TODAY, said that the incident was unacceptable and that they have suspended the delivery driver's contract.
“This is unacceptable, and we have absolutely no tolerance for this or any type of misconduct on Grubhub," said the Chicago-based company in their statement. "We took immediate action with the driver and ended his contract with us."
A spokesperson added that Grubhub also "followed up with the customer to apologize and provided coaching to the first representative who was in touch with the customer". However, they did not clarify the compensation offered.
